I became a fully qualified Doctor of Naprapathy after completing a five year course at the Scandinavian College of Naprapathic Manual Medicine in Stockholm.

The naprapath examines, diagnoses, treats, rehabilitates and prevents conditions of pain and reduced function in all parts of the locomotive organs. A naprapath always starts by looking at the entirety and consider both physical and social factors which can contribute to the emerge of pain and other discomfort. Naprapathy is well established in the Scandinavian countries, especially in Sweden where the first naprapathic college outside the United States was founded in 1970. Naprapathy was originally initiated in 1907 in the United States by Dr. Oakley Smith, who rejected the “subluxation-theory” used as an explanation for pain and disability in manual therapies at that time.
He lectured in physiology at the Central Institute for Swedish Gymnastics, London. At his death in 1955 he left a large collection of books, pamphlets and papers on the subjec 1907 – Naprapathy originated by a chiropractor in Chicago. This also concerns connective tissue. Just recently we met Cheyne Henriksson, a licensed chiropractor based in Stocksund.
